Caregiver Companion

Companion for Older gentleman in 90004 (Hancock Park)

Visually and hearing impaired
Experiencing some cognitive decline (short term memory and some language processing issues)
Smart, engaging, interested in philosophy and helping others
Married to spouse who has many responsibilities / activities outside of house
Companion requirements:

Looking for intelligent, engaging, upbeat, motivated companion with great common sense. Must have a clean, functional, and safe car. Someone who will take initiative, to think of activities and have the follow through ultimately enhancing the client’s quality of life due to the interactions. Excellent communication skills required. Experience working with older adults and references are needed.

Interactions may include:

Walks and light exercise
Initiate audible books or online articles or correspondence/emails to read to client or podcasts of interest
Engaging in interesting/stimulating conversation
Driving and escorting client to appointments and errands
Occasionally prepare/pick-up, or go out for a meal together.
Regular Part-time Schedule can be 12 – 15 hours per week over / spread over three non-consecutive days. May grow into more hours/week.

Pay $21/hour.
